If you’re planning a trip to West Cork, I recommend a stopover in the picturesque coastal village of Baltimore. I spent two nights in Baltimore, though I arrived late on the first evening, so only had one full day to explore unfortunately. We travel up and down to Dublin a lot and for the longest time we kept passing the sign for the Rock of Dunamase and saying “we really have to check that out one day”! Fortunately, we eventually did get around to checking it out because this is a remarkable site and one of my favourite places to visit now.
I’ve been to Clifden before but have no memory of ever visiting Clifden Castle. I’m not sure how I missed it but when I returned recently, I wasn’t going to let it happen again!
